An expansive splash pad on the northeast side of downtown's Scissortail Park, voted the nation's best splash pad in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards. Its extra-large jets are fitted with wind sensors and shut off automatically when lightning is detected within eight miles, and swim diapers and foot protection are required for little ones.
When to go. Peak summer highs in Oklahoma City average 92°F. Mornings and late afternoons are far more comfortable than the middle of the day, and shade is worth planning around.
